I’m currently a Visual Art Teacher at Mount Albert Grammar School in Auckland.
I studied in the Waikato and really enjoyed my time there gaining a Bachelor of Media Arts, majoring in Graphic Design and Photography.
I went on to work for a handful of design, media, and advertising agencies over several years, gaining experience in: identity/brand development, web design/development, brochures, banners, posters, packaging, signage, email marketing, architectural and fashion photography, clothing design, interior design and retail displays. During this time I also ran my creative Wedding and Portrait Photography business on the weekends and evenings.
In time and for the next few years I freelanced and especially enjoyed designing and launching the first New Zealand blog directory ‘Kiwi Mummy Blogs’ of which I then sold. I also sketched portrait commissions and self-published my own children’s book all whilst raising my two daughters.
In 2017 I completed a Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Secondary) remotely through Bethlehem Tertiary Institute in Tauranga.
Which brings me to today, I currently work at Mt Albert Grammar School. I really enjoy teaching, encouraging and inspiring our local young people to flourish creatively, find joy in their art, and helping our awesome youngsters realise the bright futures ahead of them.
Along with my husband and daughters, I love the beach, op-shopping, being active, being busy, taking too many photos, pinning too many pins, collecting pretty things (toys, figurines, vintage cameras, ceramics to name a few!), good music, really good books and lots of drawing, art (of any kind!) and crochet.
